Here is a look at my work on the shipwreck of the Naus and its associated floating debris, created for the Naruto Trail in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
-
The ship itself comes from the main game, and my mission was to deconstruct and damage it to transform it into a wreck. I rebuilt parts of the interior (floors, stairs, and other elements), and produced broken planks, ropes, and masts to enrich the environment.
-
I also created floating debris kits directly from ship parts, ensuring visual and material coherence. On top of that, I handled the vertex painting pass, blending between damaged wood and sea-worn vegetation for more natural integration.
-
One of the most challenging aspects of this work was actually invisible: making sure the wreck was navigable and worked seamlessly in-game. This required close collaboration with the Level Design and Level Art teams to adjust collisions, blockers, and player behavior around this massive asset.
